Hometown singer makes local debut . Sept. 2004 - NORTH PALM BEACH  Singer, songwriter and North Palm Beach resident, Patty Stirling will make her Florida debut at the Bamboo Room in Lake Worth on Sept. 23, at 9 p.m.

After performances in such venues as the Roxy in Los Angeles and Manhattan's CBGB's and the Elbow Room, Ms. Stirling and her band, The Patty Stirling Band, will take the stage in Lake Worth, showcasing their original music that is in the genre of No Doubt, Cheryl Crow, and The Dave Matthews Band.

"Something we've heard a lot of in the past is the high energy we have on stage, and the variety of music," Ms. Stirling said. "Specifically because some songs can be funky and others are ballads."

The singer-songwriter is encouraging her North Palm area neighbors to venture out and check out the local music scene in Lake Worth. She encourages them to come see her band and introduce themselves.
Ms. Stirling said that what's happening down at the Bamboo Room is fresh, funky and fun. She describes the Bamboo Room as a place that offers music lovers a rare treat original music, not just cover bands.

"It's not a dark, dingy bar. It's a friends and family place. It really can be a place for people to come on out and bring their friends with them," she said.

Accompanied by four band members (Neel Shukla on drums, Keith Sanz on trumpet, Craig Lietzke on Bass, and Gavi on lead guitar) Ms. Stirling fronts vocals and plays rhythm guitar.

Ms. Stirling, 29, has been writing songs since the age of 10 and performing them for the last seven years.
Since leaving New York City and making North Palm Beach her new residence, she said she has been able to relax and concentrate on writing music.

"I'm able to go to the beach and write some tunes," she said.

Her past inspirations have been Dave Matthews Band, U2 and Fishbone .

"Singer songwriters with a solid band," she said. "Talented musicians, Nora Jones, No Doubt famous from playing live. They're good live musicians."

As far as the debut, Ms. Stirling said, "It's going to be a good time. It's a good atmosphere, a good venue. There's space for everyone to hang out have a drink and have fun." The Bamboo Room is located at 25 South J Street, Lake Worth. For more information call, 561-585-2583. There is a $7 cover charge. http://www.hometownnewsol.com/npb.html

Michelle Chau: Female Muscian, August 2002 - Patty Stirling, a native of Virginia studied theater at Florida State University, and has done numerous acting, and singing gigs around L.A. and New York. I recently recieved a home made 3 song demo of hers and was quite impressed with her sound. She has a good vocal range and plays both guitar, piano and percussion. The first track, titled "Superman", had a nice guitar introduction, and is an upbeat acoustic number. "One Sweet Day", is a piano ballad with jazz influences. "I'm gonna heal tonight /I'm gonna sleep on this dream/That all will be different one sweet day", she sings. The last track "Believe", has a driving beat in the background and rounds off the whole cd quite nicely. An excellent and diverse effort, she has a beautiful voice that will go far. I predict great things will come for Patty! www.femalemusician.com
